El Huarache Loco: Authentic Mexican Delights in Anniston, AL

The Huarache Al Pastor was so good. The pork and the tortilla were perfect. You can tell they use fresh pineapple. The service was also excellent. It was exactly what I was hoping for.

What an amazing little family owned Mexican restaurant! Everyone was so friendly, they showed us pictures of all the options and made great recommendations. The alambre was sooooo delicious. The quesadillas too. The salsas are super tasty and everything was authentic. They even make all their own tortillas. 100% would recommend!

If you're in town for dril, events, or range stuff at Fort McClellan, or just passing through heading to Atlanta or Birmingham, this place is worth the 10 minute detour. I highly recommend the tortas! They are legit. Awesome staff, fantastic food. Great family run small business. Check it out!

The first bite of taco I had there filled me with anger. I was angry because I had been lied to my entire life about what a taco was, and what I had there was infinitely better than anything I’d gotten at any Mexican restaurant. The family running the place is extremely friendly and personable. The food was FANTASTIC. I’ve had the tacos, burritos, and the torta. Nothing has missed. I look forward to going through the entire menu soon, but I don’t know if I can stray away from the tacos for long.

The most welcome I've ever felt at any restaurant. So friendly and attentive, the service was fantastic. Food was great too. Wish I'd found it sooner.

Wife and I are sitting here blown away by the fabulous food! The staff is extremely friendly and super courteous. Waitress showed pictures of all menu items and explained each one, the hostess ( mother) was attentive to all our needs. Food was spectacular! Not the Americanized Mexican everyone is used to! We will return often!

Amazing food and service. When I walked I was greeted with I felt like my own caring grandmother. Was seated right away and was asked if it was my first time. Once I said it was she immediately began explaining each of the dishes offered and that each one was hand made including the tortillas. I chose the handmade corn tortilla quesadilla dish with Al pastor and Chicharon. Food was incredible. The chicharon had a delicious crunch and the corn tortilla was toasted to perfection. The lady serving me seemed to be the owner and was the nicest, most caring person ever. This review may be influenced due to the nostalgic feeling but nonetheless the food and service is like no other. Solid 5/5 experience.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. From the moment we walked in, the owner's mother treated us like family. As if that wasn't enough, the food was fabulous, maybe even perfect. I moved to Alabama from Texas nearly 17 years ago. Since living here, I've had some good Mexican food. However, I have always felt like something was missing, until I ate here. El Huarache Loco is not only excellent authentic Mexican food, but it is some of the best authentic Mexican food I have eaten anywhere. I will be back!
